Rich notes of allspice, graphite, and blackberry precede the lush and vivid palate with its delicious flavors of fresh cherry, sage, and cocoa powder. The wine’s vibrancy and precision build to a lasting finish. The wine is expressive, especially decanted while young, and will add enticing nuances with aging of 5-10 years.

ESTATE VINEYARD:
2019 BRAND Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Organically farmed and thoughtfully cultivated using biodynamic practices, this vineyard produces wines that are an authentic expression of Prichard Hill. Our uppermost vineyard is breathtakingly beautiful, with sweeping views from San Francisco Bay to Mount St. Helena. At an elevation of 1400 feet, our upper vineyard sits above the fog, basking in morning sunshine and remaining cooler in the afternoon. The low yielding Cabernet Sauvignon vines struggle for resources on these exceptionally rocky and exposed vineyard blocks to produce fruit with small, intensely flavored berries.

VINTAGE NOTES:
2019 began with welcome rainfall and cool temperatures. The late budbreak and bloom were followed by temperate summer growing conditions. The grapes benefited from the warm fall weather and steady pace of ripening, rewarding us with optimum tannin and flavor development. Later than usual, harvest took place entirely in October.

Rich notes of allspice, graphite, and blackberry precede an energetic palate with its delicious flavors of fresh cherry, sage, and cocoa powder revealing the beauty, tension, and energy of Pritchard Hill. The wine is expressive, especially when decanted while young, and will become elegantly nuanced with aging of 5-10 years. We believe that having a brick-and-mortar winery allows us to make the thousand small decisions that set our wines apart. We think you will be able to taste the difference with this 2019 vintage.
