    winemaker dinner series: the withers

join us for the second episode of the winemaker dinner series

Join us for the second event of the 2018 Winemaker Dinner Series featuring The Withers Winery and their cool climate wines originating from the Sonoma Coast, Mendocino County, El Dorado County, and the Sierra Foothills. Keeping the husband and wife team theme strong, these wines are brought to us by Andrew and Kathleen Tow – a couple who lend their passions not only to quality wine production, but also to social and environmental responsibility and philanthropy, being only the second winery in the world certified as a B Corporation. Although somewhat new on the scene, The Withers has been rapidly accepted by sommeliers, wine critics and high end restaurants the world over. All eight of their wines have recieved multiple scores of 90+ points and above from publications such as Wine Enthsiast, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Burghound, and more. Likewise, they are being poured in Michelin Star winning establishments including The French Laundry, Jean Georges, Marea, Aquavit, and many others. We’re proud to say that we’re now carrying their bottles on our wine list and in the wine shop. Don’t miss your chance to experience these special selections with our carefully crafted tastings and pairings!

    the bee foundation

For those of you who don’t already know, this is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts… On December 25, 2013, we said goodbye to a remarkable young woman who was taken from us too early. At the age of 27, Jennifer A. Sedney suffered a fatal brain aneurysm that ruptured with few warning signs. The Bee Foundation was created by Christine Kondra and Erin Kreszl to help raise awareness of brain aneurysms and increase funding for innovative research that changes lives. After only three years of dedicated perserverance, the foundation has raised over $750,000, lobbies on Capitol Hill, and continues to further the advancement of preventative brain aneurysm research with the help of their scientific advisory board. Please consider contributing to help support their committment!

    sonoma strong

After experiencing wine country through the eyes of our fellow chefs, then seeing the complete devastation our dear friends endured, we were energized to start Sonoma Strong in October 2017. In just one month, we managed to orchestrate a momentum involving many culinary and vinicultural supporters, to raise over $40,000… but are still pushing to close the gap and reach our goal of $50,000. We’ve received relief requests and will be finalizing the donation distribution plan by January 31st, 2017, with the first funds being granted in February 2018.
Many thanks to everyone who’s contributed to this intiative so far! We appreciate your support in our continuing effort to provide direct relief to the families and farmers, in Sonoma County and the North Bay area of California, that were impacted by the wildfires of 2017… But we’re not done yet – There’s still time to make a difference.

“Sonoma Strong” is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) in the state of Pennsylvania. Our sole purpose is to provide financial assistance to those individuals and business that have been directly affected by the 2017 wildfires.
